여자들과 성적차이에 대한 수다를 떨다보면 아무렇지도 않았던 행동들이 여자들이 보기에 대단히 우스꽝스럽게 보인다는 사실이 놀라울 때가 있다.
당연히 여자도 마찬가지다.
굳이 패미니즘이 아니더라도 여성성이, 또는  마초적 남성이 강조되는 작품들에 흐르는 정서가 어딘지 어색하고 우스꽝스러운 건 이런 연유에서일 것이다.  

하지만 극명하게 대비되는 단순히 여성다움, 남성다움의 관습적 행동들 이상의 것들이 있다.
이 패턴들은 쉽게 노출이 되면서도
왜 그런 여성성 남성성이 도드라지게 되는 지에 대한 관찰이 없으면
잘 인식이 안되는 게 많다.

뭐 누나나 여동생들 사이에서 자란 남자나
오빠나 남동생들 사이에서 자란 여자들은 이런 차이를 보다 쉽게 알아차리고 살지만 이들 역시나 모국어를 자연스럽게 생각하듯이 무의식적으로 당연지사의 범주에 속한다고 믿나보다.

그 패턴을 자신의 성 입장에서 발견해내기라도 하면...
화성남자 금성여자까지 안읽더라도
무슨 대단한 걸 깨우친 양 신기하기만 하다.
그런 이해력 증가는 연애할 때도 요긴하고 행여나 이성과 갈등 상황에서는 큰 효과를 발휘할지도 모른다.
자신들은 무심코 한 행동들이지만 이건 자기 성이라도 마찬가지다.
